Hello, I really love horses and I hope you do too. I live in North vancouver and like to vist a stable called the North Shore Equestrian Center. The first time thet I rode a horse was in osoyoos in 2006. Since then I have always wanted a horse. The breed/colour I really want is a palomino. In 2007, I went to a camp called Timberline Ranch. There I rode a horse named Kenya and she was a palomino. here are some facts about horses: did you know... ~There were less than 50 Caspian horses still surviving when the breed was rediscoverd? ~Frederiksborg horses where all bred to be the same colour so they looked like a team when pulling the royal carriages? ~Many Hanflingers are branded with an image of an edelweiss flower which grows in its homeland? ~The Lusitano is ridden in Portuguese bullfighting contests, so It needs to move very guickly to escape from the angry bull? ~Each October, young Oldenburg stallions take part in a three day test, to decide which ones will be used for breeding? ~The Percheron nearly died out in the U.S. when tractors took over, but it survived thanks to the amish who coutinued to use it for farming? ~The careful breeding program of some Shagyas camn be traced back over more than 20 generations? ~The Zemaituka sometimes has a stripe running down its back from its mane. This and its dun colouring show that it is closely related to wild horses? For these facts I would like to thank: The Horse Dictionary Auther:Don Harper |
