Ohio's Original Home of Thoroughbred Racing in Grove City, south of Columbus, is facing a potential crisis situation. Thoroughbred racing should be going on October through May of each year. Dozens of horses live at the raceway just waiting on the gates to open. Not this year - As you may have read, the track and the horsemen are locked in a dispute over income from Advance Deposit Wagering. At this time, there is NO WINTER RACING scheduled at Beulah Park. Negotiations are ongoing so a settlement is possible, but personally I have never seen the horsemen and employees this nervous before.

A Christmas Present

Announcement: A Big Christmas Present for Little Girl.


Davy Jones aka Mickey has been adopted out. He will be leaving Saturday the 12 to his new home. He is going to live with three other Saddlebred horses, all older simular personalities. Mickey will have access to a small indoor arena and his own stall. His adoptive owner has adopted him for her daughter to build on her saddleseat technique. Mickey will be doing a service while getting a wonderful home with a loving family. They plan to use him lightly for the next couple of years as an inhouse training horse only. Then he will be retired to live out his days with his new buddies.

We want to wish Davy a happy new year and a wonderful new life.

Finally some really good news - we have installed our shopping cart and set it up for HUGs. All proceeds go directly to caring for the horses. We are excited to finally have this going. We offered it all last year but just could not find the time to get it set up and going. We accept all major credit cards and paypal for those of you that like to pay online. Welcome To The News Blog - 2009

mood: Happy this is working right

I have made great headway here with this script. I am excited to get going with this new look and new blog. I will be posting information, news, updates and more right here for your easy access. To make it even better I will be archiving all the entries so they are never more than a touch away.

First let me say welcome. A note of interest, the calendar on the right is a non-working calendar. I put it there to log the days I have made post. You can click on the high lighted links to read up on items of interest. However it will only show the days of the most receint post.
